Social Networking: A purposeful loss of privacy

I chose the topic 'Social Networking: A purposeful loss of privacy' because it is a big topic that is not spoken enough about. Social networking has become more popular than ever. People of all ages uses social media to communicate, express, vent, rant, and share information. Everyone uses either Facebook, Instagram and/or Snapchat which are pretty mainstream social networks today. These networks allows us to keep in touch and inform our friends what we are currently doing and/or where we are. There are both pros and cons to social networking which that is what I will be researching on next. My paper will consist of how the use of social network impacts our lives and lose our privacy.

  1. You chose an interesting topic Annie. I think it's important to know what exactly we are giving up when we decide to join a social networking site or create an account. Not a lot of people realize what they out out there, will always stay out there.

  2. That is so true! People just hit "agree to all terms" button just so often, not knowing that they just consented to their loss of privacy. The networking applications then can sell our private data.... Not that many care, but I feel more and more start to care.
